OBJECTIVE’S OF RAILWAY LABOUR WELFARE

1. Understanding Employment Patterns:

To gather comprehensive data on employment and unemployment rates, including the distribution of the Railway labor force across different sectors and occupations. This helps in understanding employment trends and the structure of the Railway labor market.

2. Assessing Working Conditions:

To evaluate the working conditions of workers, including aspects such as wages, working hours, job security, and the presence of social security measures. This helps in identifying areas where improvements are needed to enhance worker welfare.

3. Monitoring Socio-economic Indicators

To monitor key socio-economic indicators related to labor, such as the Railway Worker Population Ratio (RWPR) and Railway Labor Force Participation Rate (RLFPR). These indicators are essential for policy formulation and assessing the impact of existing Railway labor policies.

4. Identifying Vulnerable Groups:

To identify and analyze the employment status of vulnerable groups, such as women, youth, and differently-abled individuals. This ensures that targeted interventions can be developed to support these groups.

5. Informing Policy and Programmes:

RMGSWP aims to educate and inform labourers about their rights, entitlements and benefits under the existing labour laws and policies. To provide data that informs the formulation and evaluation of labor and employment policies and programs. This includes programs aimed at skill development, job creation, and improving working conditions.

6. Supporting Economic Planning:

To support broader economic planning and development by providing reliable labor market data. This helps in aligning labor policies with economic growth objectives and addressing labor market challenges effectively.

7. Access to Government Schemes:

The scheme will facilitate access to various government welfare schemes, such as healthcare, education, housing and social security programs.

8. Private Sector Partnership:

RMGSWP will partner with private sector organizations to provide workers with information on employment opportunities, skill development and career advancement.

9. Grievance Redressal:

The scheme will include a grievance redressal mechanism to address labour related grievances and ensure timely resolution.

10. Awareness and Empowerment:

RMGSWP will conduct awareness campaigns and training programs to empower workers with the necessary knowledge and skills for their personal and professional development.
